Liberty On Demand presenta la galardonada película puertorriqueña “La última gira”. #LaUltimaGira @LibertyPR
La primera película local que se presenta en el servicio de video a la carta de Liberty estará disponible gratis a través del año para los clientes de televisión de Liberty Puerto Rico.
San Juan, Puerto Rico, 5 de abril de 2022 – Los clientes de televisión de Liberty Puerto Rico ya pueden disfrutar de la galardonada película “La última gira” gratis exclusivamente en Liberty On Demand, el servicio de video a la carta de la compañía. Esta es la primera película local que se presenta en Liberty On Demand y está disponible para ver de forma ilimitada hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2022.
“Además de ofrecer lo último en opciones de entretenimiento, queremos proveer contenido único que destaca nuestra cultura y brinda valor a nuestros clientes de televisión. Esta película cumple con todos esos requisitos”, dijo Waldo Hooker, vicepresidente de estrategia comercial en Liberty Puerto Rico. “Estamos orgullosos de incluir ‘La última gira’ en nuestra alineación de Liberty On Demand y así apoyar el cine puertorriqueño”.
“La última gira” fue inspirada en la vida del cantante y compositor puertorriqueño Daniel Santos, quien se convirtió en uno de los más conocidos artistas musicales latinoamericanos del siglo XXI. Interpretado en la película por el actor y cantante Éktor Rivera, Santos desea volver a vivir su días de gloria y decide irse en una última gira visitando varias ciudades a través de América del Sur, donde alcanzó su mayor popularidad. Una vez llega a la primera parada de la gira, este se da cuenta que ya no es el artista principal sino el artista de apertura para su antigua amante Marcela, una estrella emergente del merengue, protagonizada por la actriz Isel Rodríguez. La situación finalmente obliga a Santos a enfrentar sus pasado y su temor en convertirse en una figura irrelevante para el público que una vez lo adoró.
Luego de su estreno en septiembre de 2021, la película estuvo exhibiéndose exitosamente en los cines alrededor de Puerto Rico por 10 semanas. También fue aclamada por los críticos, recibiendo honores como mejor película en varios festivales internacionales de cine como el New York Latino Film Festival, el DaVinci International Film Festival en Los Angeles, el Screen Power Film Festival en Londres, y el Nunes International Film Festival en Barcelona.
“La última gira,” estádisponible por el resto del año en Liberty On Demand y se puede ver cuantas veces los clientes quieran. Para ver la película, solamente necesitan presionar el botón de VOD en su control remoto y seleccionar el título del menú de Liberty on Demand. Los clientes de televisión pueden acceder a la película sin importar a cual paquete de entretenimiento están suscritos pero necesitarán tener el convertidor regular o el Hub TV para poderla ver. La película también está disponible a través de la aplicación Liberty Go.

The first local film to be featured on Liberty’s VOD service is available throughout the year free for Liberty Puerto Rico’s television customers.
San Juan, Puerto Rico, April 5, 2022 – Liberty Puerto Rico’s television customers can now enjoy award-winning Puerto Rican film “La última gira” (The Last Tour) for free exclusively on Liberty On Demand, the company’s video on demand (VOD) service. This is the first local film featured on Liberty On Demand and it is available for unlimited views until December 31, 2022.
“Besides offering the latest entertainment options, we want to provide unique content that highlights our culture and brings value to our television customers. This film delivers all those requirements,” said Waldo Hooker, vice president of commercial strategy at Liberty Puerto Rico. “We are proud to include ‘La última gira’ in our Liberty On Demand lineup and thus support Puerto Rican cinema.”
“La última gira” was inspired by the life of Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Daniel Santos, who became one of the best known Latin American musical artists of the 20th century. Played in the film by actor and singer Éktor Rivera, Santos wishes to relive his glory days and decides to go on one last multi-city tour throughout South America, where he had achieved his greatest popularity. Once he gets to the tour’s first stop, he realizes that he is not the headliner, but the opening act to his former lover, Marcela, a rising merengue star played by actress Isel Rodríguez. The situation ultimately forces Santos to confront his past and his face his fear of becoming irrelevant to an audience that once adored him.
After its premiere in September 2021, the film enjoyed a successful 10-week run in movie theaters around Puerto Rico. It also received critical acclaim, winning best feature film honors in various international film festivals such as the New York Latino Film Festival, the DaVinci International Film Festival in Los Angeles, the Screen Power Film Festival in London, and the Nunes International Film Festival in Barcelona.
“La última gira,” is available for the rest of the year on Liberty On Demand and can be viewed as many times as customers want. To watch the film, they just need to press the VOD button in their remote controls and select the title from the Liberty on Demand menu. Television customers can access the film regardless of which video service they are subscribed to but they will need to have a regular converter or Hub TV to watch it. The movie is also available through the Liberty Go app.
