Interview by Rafy Mediavilla, w/ Robbie Amell (Nathan), Andy Allo (Nora), Allegra Edwards (Ingird) From Prime Video “Upload” S2, where we talked VR Headsets, & Ingrids obsession over Nathan, Nora dealing with her emotions, & Nathan naive feelings. Out Now On Prime Video. #UploadTV #PrimeVideo

Upload is a sci-fi comedy series from Emmy Award-winning writer Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation), set in a technologically advanced future where hologram phones, 3D food printers and automated grocery stores are the norm. Most uniquely, humans can choose to be “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife.

In Upload Season Two, Nathan is at a crossroads in his (after) life… his ex-girlfriend Ingrid has unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview hoping to strengthen their relationship, but his heart still secretly yearns for his customer service angel Nora. Meanwhile Nora is off the grid and involved with the anti-tech rebel group “The Ludds.” Season Two is packed with new near-future concepts, including Lakeview’s newest in-app digital baby program called, “prototykes,” and other satirical glimpses of the technological advances and headaches to come.

The series was created by Greg Daniels who also serves as executive producer along with Howard Klein. Series stars: Robbie Amell as “Nathan,” Andy Allo as “Nora,” Kevin Bigley as “Luke”, Allegra Edwards as “Ingrid,” Zainab Johnson as “Aleesha,” Owen Daniels as “A.I. Guy,” and Josh Banday as “Ivan,” and Andrea Rosen as “Lucy.”

Criticólogos:

Do you guys have a VR Headset and what are you playing?

Robbie Amell:

Pistol Whip.

Andy Allo:

I just got one, and when I play, I play Beat Saber.

Criticólogos:

Allegra, Ingrid’s obsession with Nathan stresses me out, did you have any clue what you were getting into with your character for this season when production started?

Allegra Edwards:

Yeah, I think I was looking forward to seeing how stressed she could get. I think we in season one, we really only saw the tip of the iceberg. I think everybody got a sneak peek in the fountain, you know, and then we just get to it’s amazing how many days I would look at the call sheet and realize I was going to be screaming that day and I lost. I lost my voice a couple times in filming season two. I was ready. I was excited. I was a little nervous, but I loved it. I had a really good time.

Criticólogos:

Andy, Nora must deal with many emotions, conflicting emotions most of the time. How, in your opinion, how does he stay grounded and focus on what she wants to accomplish?

Andy Allo:

Well, I think that’s the journey, right, is that sometimes she doesn’t she doesn’t stay grounded and sometimes her emotions get the best of her. But because Nora has such a big heart at the core of everything she does, she does. She really cares. And in this season, especially, it’s her really finding her voice. And there’s a moment where she’s, you know, she’s dating someone new and they get into a bit of a fight and you really get to see her stand her ground, which is which is really cool, and she really learns how to own her voice this season.

Criticólogos:

Robbie, in your opinion do you feel Nathan ever suspected something about Ingrid’s intentions? Or was he just living the moment trying to figure everything out?

Robbie Amell:

I think that he he’s giving her the benefit of the doubt that, you know, she knows more than she’s letting on, but she’s not, you know, there wasn’t malice. She wasn’t the person that was behind his murder. I think that he thinks that she’s probably been doing her best to try and protect him in whatever way she can. But it’s a dangerous position to be in because of who she is. She’s from that, that rich, wealthy, dangerous side of things.

Criticólogos:

To everyone or anyone that’s resistant to watch season two or the entirety of season one before diving into Season 2, what is the main reason they need to see Upload?

Allegra Edwards:

Oh, you need to see it because it will totally catch you off guard. And it is the closest you’re going to get to looking into the future. Technology wise, it’s all coming, so is your warning? Upload season two. This is your warning.

Andy Allo:

I think watch Upload season one and two because if you like any genre, Upload has all of them and you will find something that you love. And like Allegra said, there’s a lot of tech and technology and it won’t depress you. you get to laugh a little bit at it while it’s still showing you a bit of what’s to come.

Robbie Amell:

I mean, it’s an easy it’s an easy watch, and I think, you know, the times that we’re living in right now to give people a little bit of an escape, something that they can watch and turn their brain off for a second. But we’ll still, you know, kind of actually subconsciously make you think a little bit done in a way by Greg Daniels, who has a perfectly clean track record. I mean, the guy is a genius.
