“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” Movie Review by Rafy Mediavilla (@Rmediavilla). #BobsBurgersMovie

The Belchers Family finally has their cinematic moment, and what a joy it was. The story follows The Belchers Family try to save the restaurant from closing as a sinkhole forms in front of it, while the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant.

Let me come right out and say it, I am not a viewer of the TV show, so I have little knowledge of the Belchers Family and their backstory. With that out of the way I must add I absolutely loved this movie. I laughed at every single joke and pun reference. I have to say that for casual people just the way the script gets handle works, there is really no need to be a fan of the TV series to enjoy the movie.

And at glance “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” is exactly what we all it expected it to be, as extended episode of the TV series. But we look at the grand scoop of the story written for the movie is so much more. What the Belchers family is going with their business is something everyone can relate to if you own a personal business. And without giving to much away the pressure the kids are having to help the family and save the business is something many teens will relate as well. Between the jokes, the puns, and the reality behind the story is where this movie truly shines.

Another aspect of the story that really worked for me was the I feel it was very Louise Belcher centric, while mom and pops were trying to be “responsible” at figuring out ways to save the business, Louise was feeling that same pressure but also the added once’s of trying to find her worth just as she is.

If anything, the only aspect of the movie that didn’t work for me were the musical moments. I don’t know why but I just didn’t find the amusing and to me at moments it messed with the pacing of the story. Maybe is something the actual fans of the franchise will like, but it just didn’t click for me.

Ultimately that is the reason the movie shines, the way it was written just works for everyone, a plain goo time at the movies. Fans of the will have a kick with it and may even what to see more on the big screen. And causal movie goers will have a great laugh, tons of fun and even relate to the story and the characters in some way. Even giving them motivation enough to go start withing the TV series.
