Criticólogos:
What is the connection that you saw between the movies and the series?
Lyndon Smith:
Well, we’re just expanding out, right? We’re not rebooting this. We’re not trying to change anything. Like the source material is gold. All we want to do is just reopen the doors for this. You know, it’s been 15, 20 years. So we’re bringing in a fresh, new, young, diverse group. We’ve got a new group of these treasure hunters and all of those favorite characters from the movies. They’re still here in our world. Some of them pop up. So the connection is there, the connection is the source material, and then we’re just going to keep it going.
Zuri Reed:
Yeah. One of the things that I love about the films, it was so funny. Mm-hmm. And so fast and thrilling. And the series is exactly that as well. So we definitely keep that National Treasure Foundation vibe that we all know and love for certain.
Criticólogos:
One of the things that stood out for me from the series is the diversity and inclusion of not only the characters but the cast. I absolutely love the cast. So I wonder, with that in mind, how much of your character is you being yourself, or do you just follow the script?
Zuri Reed:
Well, you know, my character, specifically Tasha, is a lot like me. She’s very outgoing and very outspoken. She’s a little bit smarter when it comes to, like, technology. I don’t really have her brain and that capacity. But yeah, I think I took some stuff from Zuri. But having the breakdown of Tasha was the foundation as well. So we kind of just mixed what the whips were thinking when they wrote her. And a little bit of me and I made. Yeah. Project for sure.
Lyndon Smith:
I think one of the reasons why this cast works so well together is we all have the essence of our character. You know, like Lyndon is just I mean, when I am looking at a scene with Agent Ross, I’m like, What would Lyndon do in this situation? You know, we’re not very far off from our characters. I wouldn’t say that essence is still there, which I think is why the group works so well. I mean, you have characters that are all pieces of the puzzle that clicks. If that’s mirrored in your cast, that’s why this cast is clicking.
