Dynamic indie duo of Anna-Elizabeth & Hillary Shakespeare set to premiere charming and critically acclaimed romantic coming of age comedy SOUNDTRACK TO SIXTEEN at the 2021 Cinequest Film Festival.

Tenacious and talented, the dynamic indie duo of Anna-Elizabeth (Co-writer) & Hillary (Co-Writer/Director) Shakespeare are set to premiere their critically acclaimed feature debut SOUNDTRACK TO SIXTEEN at the 2021 virtual edition of the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival running March 20-30th.

Brimming with charm and wit, SOUNDTRACK TO SIXTEEN is a coming-of-age film about two anxious teens growing up in London in the 2000s.

Maisy is self-conscious and constantly overanalysing. She is obsessed with having her first kiss this year, before she turns seventeen, but stalking the boy next door doesn’t seem to be working.Meanwhile Ben, a boy from a nearby school, is happy being a nerd and thinking he’s better than everyone else until his grades start plummeting. For the first time he must come face to face with the idea that he might, in fact, be average. When the two meet each other on the night bus things get even more confusing for them as they attempt to navigate their first potential romance under the stress of exams that will define their future.

The sisters also have a second feature film in post-production which is a teen take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing – a modern adaptation with the original Shakespearean dialogue titled Much Ado and are currently producing a film called The Unreasonhttps://deadline.com/2020/12/the-unreason-bbc-natural-history-unit-masked-singer-abacus-1234655833

About The Shakespeare Sisters

Anna- Elizabeth:

After I graduated from Oxford University in 2017 where I was studying German literature, Hillary and I started Shakespeare Sisters. We then completed our first feature film ‘Soundtrack to Sixteen’ which we co-produced with Ben Jacques (Hatton Garden Job, Accident Man). After it’s release in the UK earlier this year the film has been to festivals around the world including Schlingel International Film Festival this October where we were proud to pick up the festival’s audience award. We are now in development on several projects and co-productions including work with A+E Studios, Broken Flames Productions and Candr Pictures.

Hillary:

I started my career in science, completing an undergrad in Physics at Imperial College, then a masters in Computer Science at Oxford before I moved to the Oxford Robotics Institute in 2015. I left robotics to found Shakespeare Sisters with Anna in 2018. We have since produced two feature films and are now taking on a slate of new projects including The Unreason (Chris Reading) and Faulty Roots (Ella Greenwood) as well as developing our own scripts for film and TV.
