“Deadpool 3” Voted as 2024’s Top Pick in Fandango’s Annual Most Anticipated Movies Survey of Over 8,000 Ticket-buyers

Nearly 90% Of Ticket-Buyers Plan to See Multiple Movies in Theaters in 2024, with over 80% claiming they are more excited to go to the movies in 2024 than in 2023
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 14, 2023) – Fandango, the nation’s leading online movie ticketing service, surveyed more than 8,000 ticket-buyers to find out which films and performances movie fans are most anticipating on the big screen in the new year. According to Fandango’s 2024 Most Anticipated Movies Survey, the films that fans are most excited to see include Deadpool 3, Beetlejuice 2, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Dune: Part Two, Venom 3, Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2 and more.
“2023 was a monumental year for moviegoers and theaters alike, with blockbusters like Barbie, Oppenheimer, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and many more uniting audiences of all ages to experience brilliant stories on the big screen,” says Fandango Managing Director, Erik Davis. “The new year is looking to bring even more people back into theaters through returning franchises such as Deadpool, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice and Despicable Me, beloved reimagined stories like Mean Girls and Wicked Part 1, and highly anticipated action blockbusters like Dune: Part Two and A Quiet Place: Day One.”
Among the findings in Fandango’s annual Most Anticipated Movies Survey:
- 88% of ticket-buyers plan to see multiple movies in theaters in 2024
- 81% are more excited to go to the movies in 2024 than in 2023
- 80% feel that the moviegoing experience cannot be recreated at home
- 71% plan to see movies in a premium format in 2024 (i.e. IMAX, Dolby, etc.)
- 68% plan to watch multiple movies in IMAX and other premium large-screen formats in 2024
