Interview by Rafy Mediavilla, w/ Disney+ “Zombies 3” Alien Crew – Terry Hu (A-spen), Matt Cornett (A-Ian) & Kyra Tantao (A-li). Where we spoke about switching teams, the amazing costume & makeup crew, and what fans can expect from this entry to the Zombies trilogy. #ZOMBIES3 #DisneyPlus
It’s Zed and Addison’s final year at Seabrook and things are better than ever. The town has finally accepted monsters as a part of Seabrook and has become a safe haven for monsters and humans alike. Zed is on the cusp of receiving a football scholarship and becoming the first Zombie to ever attend college (and he’s excited to join Addison who has already been admitted). Addison is excited to mark the opening of the town’s brand new “cheer pavilion” by inviting cheer teams from all over the world to compete in an “international cheer-off.” However, the town is shocked by the arrival of a new group of intergalactic outsiders – Aliens, who show up to compete in the cheer-off. Though they begrudgingly allow the Aliens to stay for the competition – the monsters and humans of Seabrook grow suspicious when they discover that the Aliens may be looking for more than a friendly competition. Some flashing lights sequences or patterns may affect photosensitive viewers.
Criticólogos:
I want to start with this one and then we’re going to switch places here. If you can switch teams and go from one to another, which one would it be and why?
Matt Cornett:
If I wasn’t an alien, I would switch to a werewolf because I think I love the teeth. The teeth are awesome. I want the fangs. The werewolves are also just, like, the most epic part of this movie. They look great. They sound great. They’re just like. They’re just bad to the bone. They’re so cool. I just want to be a werewolf. Like, after watching this movie, I’m like, you guys are really cool. I want to be like you.
Kyra Tantao:
I think I would definitely join Team Zombie just because, like, I really love their fashion and their style and they like its clothes and the plaid and like, I think I would start a zombie rock band if I was a zombie.
Terry Hu:
I think for me, honestly werewolf too. I don’t know that I am so much like werewolves, but I think I could add as a diversity to the werewolves. Okay. But also, honestly, after like when you watch this movie, I love my aliens, but it is like, okay, there’s this one song in particular. And every single time I remember on set, I was like, I wish I were part of the song. Like, it was just so, it’s kind of hard not to want to be, like, part of that crowd.
Criticólogos:
The sets, the wardrobe, the makeup, the everything is so freaking cool. Did you guys took anything just to keep it as a memento?
Terry Hu:
We sure tried. We sure tried everything. Rafy, let me tell you and I know Kyra will speak to this, but there are definitely a lot of cool things. I’m trying to think if there’s any. I guess for me it was a blue hair. I took the blue hair with me because I did dye my hair for this. It was very, very bright for me for a long time. And then I actually got to redye when we were doing promotion and stuff. I would say that was probably the most lasting thing for me.
Kyra Tantao:
I’m going to show you right now these little hexagon earrings. Yeah, they were like 50 copies of them. So I got a little keepsake.
Matt Cornett:
For me. I tried, so I tried. But aliens wear these gloves, these silver gloves that have like metal on them and then a holder. I tried to take one and because they had so they had like seven for each of us. And I asked, you know, the prop girl, I was like, Hey! what are the chances I can, like, keep one of these? Because I don’t just want to, like, take some things. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble. I don’t want to get in trouble. I asked multiple times and she was like, Yeah, no, we’re not allowed to like let you keep it. I was like, But you have like seven of them. Can I have one? She was like, No. And I just kept asking and eventually I didn’t get one, but I did get given one of the Z Patrol badges. So, you know, for Halloween, maybe I’ll be Z Patrol.
Criticólogos:
What can people expect from this trilogy, Zombies 3?
Matt Cornett:
There’s so much there’s so many great stories and I think overall, like this film, the first two films were incredible movies. And I think this one just really took the bar and just went one step even higher. And I think the music in this movie is beautiful, the dances are incredible, they’re epic. And the stories that are told her beautiful stories and it takes you it truly takes you on an emotional ride. Like you. You will feel all the emotions during this movie. I’ve seen it and I laughed, cried like felt bad and felt great. Like, there’s so much emotion you’re going to feel and I love it.
Terry Hu:
Yeah, I think kind of just going off with Matt said it takes all of the best parts of the first two and the themes and stuff like that keeps it does a great job with that and just adds on I think like, you know some of the songs and dances push. The envelope in like even more in this really exciting way. And I know that maybe I’m biased, but I do think that this might be the best one yet. But also because everyone’s here now, you know, and everyone has brought so much good to it.
Kyra Tantao:
I think, I think they said it all. It’s just like the epic finale. And I think it’s going to be so exciting. Also, I love your Puerto Rican flag. ¡Yo soy Boricua!
