“Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” (Disney+) Movie Review by Rafy Mediavilla (@Rmediavilla). # DisneyPlus #RescueRangers @RescueRangers @DisneyPlus

The movie is billed as a 30-year comeback from the Rescue Rangers TV series, & yes it is absolutely that but much, much more, believe me. My ONLY true complain about the movie is that it will not have a theatrical release. Not even a simultaneous release, which I consider a complete travesty given how PERFECT is this movie.

When I started watching the movie I had zero expectations, & didn’t remember watching any trailers, nor any previews, promos etc. When I finished watching the movie, I was completely mesmerize by it. Much like a said on my first reaction it reminded me why I go back & rewatch “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” over, & over again. Yes, people this movie is that good.

Without giving to much way, this is the true Multiverse of Madness we were waiting for. Yes, that Multiverse of Madness we wanted to see for Doctor Strange 2 we get it with this movie. Think about everything you wanted to see in Doctor Strange 2, the cameos, & the reference, all of them are here, plus well placed & used for the narrative of the story. I honestly was surprised on how Disney got away with some of the fan service, or even how did they manage to pull it off, I mean they have money, so there that, but still the shock & wow factor is there, & my god does it work flawlessly.

This movie is all about playing with the nostalgia factor. At its core, story wise the plot is basically a 90-minute episode of the TV series. Is a walk down memory lane, on how animation has evolved, from the 2D elements to 3D, CGI, Live-Action, much like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” did in the late 80’s. Is a love letter to the animation industry, but also a lover letter to the fans of the franchise itself.

In the end, “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” works as intended, it brings back the memories of how fun it was to sit down, & watch the Rescue Rangers solve their case, but in a way that everyone in the family will be able to enjoy. It is set to make old school fans happy & bring this new generation into the mix. Honestly, we need more movies like these.

“Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” premieres exclusively (sadly) on Disney+ tomorrow, Friday May 20.
