Los Angeles, CA (October 9, 2024) – It’s time to get Wicked! Starting today, tickets are available on Fandango for Universal Pictures’ new cinematic event, Wicked, arriving in theaters on Friday, November 22.
Pink goes good with green! Fandango correspondent Jacqueline Coley sat down for Fandango’s Big Ticket interview with Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Jeff Goldblum, along with director Jon M. Chu, to talk about creating the world of Oz. Based on the hit Broadway stage musical, Wicked is the untold story of the witches of Oz, Elphaba and Glinda, and how their extraordinary adventures will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The stars break down some fun new details on the film, including:
- Erivo and Grande share how the very first song they sang together was “For Good”
- Grande and Erivo rave about their co-star Jonathan Bailey doing his own choreography and stunts—including a backflip! —in his “Dancing Through Life” number in the film.
- Erivo confirms that her version of “Defying Gravity” in the film grows and has some added elements that you do not get from the stage version. Director Chu describes how the crew had tears in their eyes listening to Erivo perform “Defying Gravity” on set.
- Grande and Erivo describe in detail the exact moment they found out they were going to be playing Glinda and Elphaba in the film of Wicked.
To celebrate Elphaba and Glinda’s magical adventures, Fandango is offering U.S. fans the chance to win a trip to Oz. Moviegoers who purchase a ticket on Fandango to Wicked will automatically be entered to win a trip to the film’s Los Angeles premiere!
