#SXSWFilm 2022 – (REVIEWS) by Rafy Mediavilla – “The Cow”, “Tony Hawk Until the Wheels Fall Off”, “Swimming With Sharks”, “Master”, & “Cha Cha Real Smooth”.
“The Cow” … cuenta con un gran elenco pero sufre de una historia descuidada. Winona Ryder, Dermot Mulroney y John Gallagher Jr cumplen con sus papeles. Aunque estaba intrigado por saber cómo el director iba a atar todos los giros y vueltas, la película simplemente no hizo clic para mí.
“The Cow” … features a great cast but suffers from a sloppy story. Winona Ryder, Dermot Mulroney, & John Gallagher Jr deliver in their roles. While I was intrigued to find out how the director was going tie up all the twists & turns, the movie just didn’t click for me.
“Tony Hawk Until the Wheels Fall Off” … es un largometraje documental extremadamente detallado que examina el ascenso (& caídas) de Tony Hawk. La película explora la megaestrella “Sk8er Boi” en la que se convirtió, su impacto y sus huesos rotos y cómo sigue siendo una fuerza a tener en cuenta hoy en día.
“Tony Hawk Until the Wheels Fall Off” … is an extremely detailed documentary feature that examines the rise (& downfalls) of Tony Hawk. The film explores the “Sk8er Boi” mega star he became, his impact & broken bones and how he is still a force to be reckoned with today.
“Swimming With Sharks” … Roku Channel ¡Debuta en el #SXSW Film Festival con un bombazo! La serie tiene una gran premisa sobre hasta dónde estás dispuesto a llegar para triunfar en Hollywood y cuenta con un reparto EPIC que incluye a Kiernan Shipka, Diane Kruger, Donald Sutherland y Finn Jones.
“Swimming With Sharks” … Roku Channel makes its debut in the #SXSW Film Festival with a banger! The series has a great premise on how far are you willing to go to make it in Hollywood & features an EPIC cast that includes Kiernan Shipka, Diane Kruger, Donald Sutherland & Finn Jones.
“Master” … My main problem with the film is that it tried to emulate “Get Out” w/ a different setting & theme. The story feels scattered & unfocused & I struggled to connect w/ it. Social commentary aside, it’s overall a watchable horror film. Regina Hall carries the film.
“Master” … Mi principal problema con la película es que trató de emular a “Get Out” con un escenario y tema diferentes. La historia se siente dispersa y desenfocada y me costó conectar con ella. Aparte del comentario social, en general es una película de terror que se puede ver. Regina Hall lleva la película.
“Cha Cha Real Smooth” … es la película imprescindible del 2022. Cooper Raiff ha creado una historia hermosa, agridulce y poderosa sobre el amor, el desamor, la familia y la amistad. Me hizo llorar de principio a fin. Me encantó cómo se aseguró de que cada personaje importara.
“Cha Cha Real Smooth” … is the must see movie of 2022. Cooper Raiff crafted a beautiful, bittersweet & powerful story about love, heartbreak, family & friendship. It had me in tears from start to finish. I loved how he made sure every single character mattered.
