TOKIO, JAPÓN – 15 de julio, 2022 – Toho y CoMix Wave se enorgullecen en revelar el último tráiler de la próxima película de Makoto ShinkaiSUZUME, y además primera vez la actuación de Nanoka Hara en el papel de Suzume.

Desde que se reveló la imagen principal en abril junto con las cuatro palabras clave, “Joven viajero”, “Gato blanco”, “Silla pequeña” y “La llave de las puertas”, la película ha cobrado un interés considerable por parte de la prensa mundial. La película sigue a sus dos éxitos de taquilla anteriores, Your Name (2016) y Weathering with You (2019), que obtuvieron un reconocimiento internacional sin precedentes.

Se espera que Suzume llegue a los cines en Japón el 11 de noviembre de 2022. Crunchyroll distribuirá la película a nivel mundial (excepto Japón, Corea del Sur e India) a comienzos de 2023. En Norteamérica, Crunchyroll es el único distribuidor. En América Latina, Australia/Nueva Zelanda, Medio Oriente y partes de Europa, la película será distribuida por Crunchyroll y Sony Pictures Entertainment. SOBRE EL NUEVO TRÁILER

Este nuevo avance profundiza en cuatro palabras clave reveladas junto con el tráiler inicial develado en abril, que ahora tiene cerca de 5 millones de visitas. El “Joven Viajero” que pasa junto a Suzume bajo el cielo despejado, eventualmente cerrando portones junto con “La Llave de las Puertas”. Del mismo modo, el “Gato Blanco” cuya presencia en las redes sociales parece estar creciendo día a día, y la “Pequeña Silla” corriendo como si estuviera viva son solo la punta del iceberg para “Suzume”.

Aunque todavía está rodeado de misterio, Makoto Shinkai afirma: “Creé esto con la intención de presentar a Suzume, mientras somos testigos de la amplia gama de emociones de nuestra protagonista de 17 años, desde sus reacciones graciosas hasta su seria determinación”.

Por primera vez, el público podrá escuchar la canción titulada “Suzume”, que fue compuesta específicamente para esta película. Suzume termina el tráiler con las misteriosas palabras:

Cuando grabó su voz para que coincidiera con la actuación en pantalla de Suzume, la actriz Nanoka Hara dijo: “Estaba tan nerviosa. Dado que solo podía usar mi voz para representar las emociones de los personajes, tenía que tener en cuenta cada frase y el significado que pretendía transmitir. Había tanto que no sabía”. Ella continúa: “Al ver la imagen y la voz juntas, finalmente me di cuenta de que dependía de mí darle vida a este personaje, lo que me puso tan nerviosa que apenas podía moverme. No obstante, el director Shinkai elogiaría mi actuación y me guiaría a la actuación correcta cada vez. ¡Grabar este tráiler definitivamente aumentó mi confianza!”.

HISTORIA

La travesía de Suzume, de 17 años, comienza en el apacible pueblo de Kyushu cuando se encuentra con un joven que le dice: “Estoy buscando una puerta”. Lo que Suzume encuentra es una sola puerta desgastada que se yergue en medio de las ruinas como si estuviera protegida de cualquier catástrofe. Aparentemente atraída por su poder, Suzume echa mano a la perilla…

Las puertas comienzan a abrirse una tras otra en todo Japón, desatando la destrucción sobre cualquiera que esté cerca. Suzume debe cerrar estos portales para evitar más desastres.

TOKYO, JAPAN – July 14, 2022 – Toho and CoMix Wave are proud to reveal the latest trailer for Makoto Shinkai’s upcoming film, “Suzume,” which also reveals for the first time, Nanoka Hara’s performance in the lead role of Suzume.

The upcoming film follows his previous two blockbusters, “Your Name.” (2016) and “Weathering with You” (2019), which garnered unprecedented international acclaim.

“Suzume” is expected to be hitting movie theaters in Japan on November 11th, 2022. Crunchyroll is distributing “Suzume” globally (excluding Japan, South Korea and India) beginning in early 2023. In North America, Crunchyroll is the sole distributor. ABOUT THE NEW TRAILER

The new trailer takes a deeper look into 4 key words revealed along with the initial teaser in April, which now has close to 5 million views. The “Traveling Young Man” who walks past Suzume underneath the clear skies, eventually closing doors together with “The Key to Doors.” Likewise, the “White Cat” whose social media presence seems to be growing day by day, and the “Small Chair” running around as though alive are but the tip of the iceberg to “Suzume.”

Though still surrounded in mystery, Makoto Shinkai states, “I created this with the intention of introducing Suzume” as we witness Suzume’s wide range of emotions from her comical reactions to the serious determination of our 17-year-old protagonist.

What are the various encounters and partings that happen along Suzume’s journey? What is the meaning behind the vast grassy plains underneath the sunset and starry sky, to which Suzume witnesses on the other side of the door?

For the first time, audiences will get to hear the song titled “Suzume,” which was composed specifically for this film. Suzume ends the trailer with the mysterious words,

“I wandered beyond a space
“Where it seemed all time had melted together
“in the sky.”

When recording her voice to match Suzume’s on-screen performance, actress Nanoka Hara stated, “I was so nervous. Since I could only use my voice to act out the characters’ emotions, I had to be mindful of every phrase and the meaning it was intended to carry. There was so much I didn’t know.” She continues, “Seeing the picture and voice together, it finally dawned on me that it was up to me to bring this character to life, which made me so nervous, I could barely move. Nonetheless Director Shinkai would praise my acting and guide me to just the right performance each time. Recording this trailer definitely increased my confidence!”

STORY

17-year-old Suzume’s journey begins in a quiet town in Kyushu when she encounters a young man who tells her, “I’m looking for a door.” What Suzume finds is a single weathered door standing upright in the midst of ruins as though it was shielded from whatever catastrophe struck. Seemingly drawn by its power, Suzume reaches for the knob…

Doors begin to open one after another all across Japan, unleashing destruction upon any who are near. Suzume must close these portals to prevent further disaster.
