MRS. DAVISstars Betty Gilpin, Jake McDorman and Andy McQueen, showrunner, executive producer and writer Tara Hernandez and executive producer and writer Damon Lindelof made their Red Carpet debut at SXSW’s iconic Stateside Theater this evening, Tuesday, March 14, at the World Premiere of Peacock’s highly anticipated original series. A packed house with standing room only filled the room with laughter, cheers and applause, and after the screening of the first two episodes, Tara, Damon and the cast discussed the series during a Q&A moderated by Paste Magazine’s editor-in-chief Josh Jackson.
QUOTES FROM THE PANEL:
“We started going on walks and sort of spitballing ideas, and inevitably those conversations would devolve into all of these questions that we had. We just decided, what if there was an algorithm that answered all of our questions?”
-Tara Hernandez
“We love tech, we need tech. Tech can be a valuable tool, but we also need a champion to push back against it because we’re worried about where all of this is headed.”
-Damon Lindelof
“[Tara & Damon] asked big questions joyfully and invented a new genre…No Country For Old Looney Tunes.”
-Betty Gilpin
“The opportunity to do something like this is so weird and rare and everybody showed up kind of on the same page to just swing from the fences.”
-Jake McDorman
“It was a wild ride and I wouldn’t do it with anyone else.”
-Andy McQueen
