In season three, “Mythic Quest” follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, molding heroes and creating legends, but the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office. In season three, as Ian and Poppy navigate the gaming world and their partnership at the newly formed GrimPop Studios, Dana is forced to play mediator to her bosses’ incessant bickering. Back at Mythic Quest, David settles into his new role as the boss where he truly finds himself in charge for the first time with Jo returning as his assistant — more loyal and militant than ever; and Carol attempts to figure out where she fits in after a new promotion. At Berkeley, Rachel struggles to balance her morals with capitalism, while a post-prison Brad tries to return to society as a reformed man.

Criticólogos:

Danny, if you could talk to Brad about what’s going on in his life, what would be the underlying message that you would tell him with all these things that we will see. We know the arc, so we know where it’s going. What would you tell him to you know, maybe to give you some some positive vibe that, hey, this is going to work out in the end, Just give it time.

Danny Pudi:

If Brad would allow me to sit down, I don’t think Brad sits down very often and Brad would allow me to sit with him for a moment. I would say, What are you running from? Are you running, you know, from the past? Are you running to something? What are we doing here? And also, like, maybe to heal, Maybe it would be a good idea, heal the past in order to move forward a little bit. So I would say like, let’s look back. Let’s just unpack a little bit. You’re good, man. You’re good, you’re skilled, you’re valuable. Have a seat. Sit down for once. It’s okay. You know, have a mochachino. It’s okay. Sit down. It’s all good.

Criticólogos:

Naomi Oh, my God. Carol. I absolutely love Carol. I wonder, with being the HR lady, did you do any research? Because you just blew it out of the water. Wiith every single situation they put you in. When you get the script, did you go like, is this really legal? Can people do this. How do you go about when you get the lines and to prepare yourself for the character? How do you put yourself in the role?

Naomi Ekperigin:

Well, thank you very much. How I get the role of Carol is… Carol is someone who just wants to be left alone. And I understand that. She would like to just sit down in her house with nobody talking to her. With a glass of wine. Okay. But people keep bothering her. So that’s why I understand that feeling.

Danny Pudi:

I think I just figured out why Brad and Carol are drawn to each other in a way. Brad just wants to be alone, too. He just wants to be left alone. He wants to deal as quickly as possible with whatever we need to deal with. And then he just wants to be alone. Right.

Criticólogos:

So what can people expect from this third season? Naomi, you first.

Naomi Ekperigin:

In this third season, you’re going to see fun new pairings of the characters you already love. At some point, people do get into a tank. I’m not going to say no more. It gets fun. It gets wild.

Danny Pudi:

I would say yes. Fun and wild and some existential questions, some reflection. Some of the characters are achieving success and also questioning their purpose in this season, which I think leads to some kind of unexpectedly touching episodes.

Criticólogos:

Okay. So one last question, and I also cover gaming in my platform, so I got to ask and I ask everyone, everyone is giving these great answers. So what game are you playing right now? What would you recommend my listeners to play that you are playing? Naomi, you first.

Naomi Ekperigin:

I recommend you listen to Danny’s recommendation.

Danny Pudi:

Thank you, Naomi. I play a game called Return of Monkey Island right now on the Switch, and I’m really enjoying it. It’s just kind of a nice little romp through the life of a pirate, but it’s kind of jolly, and it’s got this fun, like, weird storytelling and a lot of, like, goofy puns. I’m enjoying it. It’s good.
