Interview “Jurassic World Dominion” by Rafy Mediavilla With Actors DeWanda Wise & Mamoudou Athie, Talk About Dinosaurs As Pets, The Impact Of Their Characters, And Working With The Amazing Cast. @JurassicWorld @UniversalPics @Rmediavilla #JurassicWorldDominion #JurassicWorld #MamoudouAthie #DeWandaWise

Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs now live–and hunt–alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures in a new Era.

Criticólogos:

If you could have a pet dinosaur. Which one would it be and why?

DeWanda Wise:

I would take home, Larry, because he was designed for Kayla, which in a manner of speaking, means that he was kind of designed for me. He’s a little laid back, quite unassuming, but will bite your hand off if he needs to.

Mamoudou Athie:

The triceratops, because if I was a dinosaur, that’s who I am.

DeWanda Wise:

That’s a spirit animal. This is dinosaur spirit animal.

Mamoudou Athie:

And Jeff, I think, put this so perfectly. I don’t need something like attacking me in my own home. This is what’s played out. I would want a triceratops. I think they’re cute. Yeah, I think they’re lovely. The grass and stuff. So, you know, triceratops.

Mamoudou Athie as Ramsay Cole in Jurassic World Dominion, co-written and directed by Colin Trevorrow.

Criticólogos:

What can the fans expect from your characters in the impact that they made on the story?

DeWanda Wise:

Definitely some action and adventure, but also a little comedy? You know, Kayla has some fun moments of comedic relief in there. And I mean, I’ll tell you what, we were in the last third of the movie and the Wanda and Kayla were just trying to figure out the safest way to go home. So you can absolutely expect a level of urgency and truth in Kayla.

Mamoudou Athie:

I mean, that’s I think that’s him the whole time. Yeah. He’s always looking at his watch because there’s like, I got 2 hours to make this happen, and these dudes are playing games. Yeah, he’s very efficient and very. He tries to be as composed as possible because that’s the only way that anything’s going to get done. So efficiency is the name of the game for Ramsey.

Criticólogos:

Were you able to grab some tips and tricks from them, what were you able to learn from the actors? (On working, Pratt, Dern, Neill, Howard, & Goldblum)

DeWanda Wise:

Probably the most I learned was from Chris Pratt. You know, he is a true action star. He makes it look tremendously easy. It is not. It really is. And it’s not easy to deliver the performances that he’s delivered while also executing the very technically specific stunts that he’s required to do. And he gave me I mean, the playbook. Chris Pratt gave me the playbook. I really appreciate him quite, quite a bit.

Mamoudou Athie:

Yeah. You know, I’ll just watch. I got to see three very different actors do their thing and interact with each other. It was I’m not sure exactly if I could quantify what I learned from them in a sentence, but I feel like I the experience was such an enriching one that I came off that set and to the next one, a much more confident actor.

Criticólogos:

What does it mean to the two of you to be part of this franchise? So big, so important, so impactful?

DeWanda Wise:

It means it’s a tremendous honor. You know, and I’ll say this specifically to the fans, because it is the kindness I keep getting reminded, you know, even having these horror stories, you know, in the news repeatedly from other franchises and from the very beginning, from the first moment that, you know, an image of Kayla Lotz like went out online, it has been nothing but love and this warm welcome. I’m just really grateful specifically to the fans for being so loving.

Mamoudou Athie:

I mean, yeah, I couldn’t say it better myself than go on, as is usually the case. Yeah. You know, It’s an honor. It’s I’m very grateful. And, you know, I, I never dreamed that would be a part of this. But now that I am, it is a dream, so it’s. It’s super.
